Post Christmas blues! there just a bummer
the food tastes so good and well i can never say no to another chocolate christmas or otherwise, but christmas is a time when we can all gorge ourselves silly. Then comes the come down a few days later when all remains of christmas dinner have well and truly been eaten. Even the copious shopping trips, making the most of christmas sales can merely slightly mask these feelings, and then like a great fat turket it hits you! ooof and the come down begins
not only is there the fact ooo these jeans are a bit tight but then again there is the thought that poops in my head that there is no point in beginning my diet now when im merely days away from new years and that means resolutions which means a new start and therefore a 'diet' ewww the dreaded word. I really shouldn't think liek this cause then i just maybe carry on eating the same not as much but still a lot of junk is consumed and whislt out shopping it aint great ot be trying on clothes for two reasons:
continual visual of body
your not actually your normal size just a weeny bit bigger
The weight itself isn't like noticeable liek omg shes doubeled in size but well i can definately feel it so yer shopping is good ... trying on not so much!

The Epic dinner and goodbyes
Yesterday was to a degree quite sad, after 3 months today was the last day of college as we are now officially on christmas holidays! Although this is a very good thing as it means the beginnig of hearty home cooking, lie ins and meeting up with friends it also means actually tackling ever mounting history of costume work and worst of all saying bye to all my new friends here at halls for a month. I think thats whats gonna be odd not being around these people every day any more. After three months yer it will be good to have some time apart but it will be to some extent worse then when i moved out as these friends here i live with and am with them preety much all day everyday apart from when im sleeping..... gonna be weird me thinks
... but i must inform you of the epic costume girl christmas dinner with our chicken substitute (times are hard with the credit crunch and plus were students)So much food was eaten and all tasted pure yum. I was in charge of makin a toffee cheescake with emilie and ok maybe im a tinsey bit byast but it tasted good. We had like all the trimmings - oh so yummy pigs in blankets - lots of red current jelly annnnd like 5 puddings ooh so yum!!
... not long to actuall christmas now ... thats quite a scary thought!!

In the flat
Tonight me and two of my flatmates went and saw The Wizard of Oz and boy do i feel christmassy now, i have watched that film every year of my life at home and therfore i have sentimental attachments to that film. It was so good i love it and yes me and welshy did come out of the cinema singing were off to see the wizard, that film just has that affect on you well me any way.
On the way to the cinema we happened to stop in ASDA and bought a christmas tree, for a 3.5ft tree with built in lights we only payed £5 i think was a preety good bargain, so tonight after returning from the film we hard core cleaned the flat and decorated whilst listening to christmas songs.... we don't do things by half in this flat .... i love it! the flat looks really good all cosy and just warm and inviting =) ... tomorrow is christmas dinner time with the costume girls can't wait .. time to unveil our secret santa's i managed to once in my life stick to a budget and i think my person will hopefully like thieir presents

Christmas Dinner
as im at halls and we officially finish college this friday me and my course woop woop costume are having a christmas dinner on tuesday, oooo im so excited!!
christmas dinner and all the trimmings minus ickly gravy!!!! i don't get gravy it just wrong. It completly like just infects a plate of food, a brown wrong river that makes all your food like wet and soggy can't stand the stuff. I think i just have issues with liquid food, like soup urgh that stuff really is wrong! Just the smell of it makes me feel ill and its just maybe a tad confusing what do you do with it? drink it eat it with a spoon ahhh its just confusin.
sorry for the deviation but yes ahh were planning a big ole meal which were gonna cook when we finish college half day, hopefully all goes well and all will be tasty.
ahhh can't wait i just gotta make sure i have lots of redcurrent jelly and all will be goood! ooo yum i love it!

Hog Roast
Last night was my Chirstmas Ball and i must say twas a preety good night out. Everyone loooked so preety all dressed up in posh dresses and heels and i must say some dresses were beautiful, i especially like this one dress that had a huge white bow on the back twas vair vair preetysome.
One of the main events of the night was the hog roast. As this was my first ever hog roast i didn't know what to expect, i certainly dind't expect them to bring out the whole pig which made me feel a bit mean for wanting to eat some but i was starving. Having had some i still don't know what the big fuss was about, it was basically just like a posh burger, seeing as i don't like salad or apple sauce that much twas a bit lack lustre i am yet as to be converted.

Tis the season to be jolly
Once again the time of year is upon us when our houses become shrines to tinsel as its now oficially christmas.
For me i began to feel christmassy as soon as i saw the coca-cola advert, this advert is the true signifier that we are enterin the festive season. So yesterday whilst attempting to write an earth shatteringly boring essay me and my flat mates sat around and listened-sang along to christmas songs ooo i loved it. I cracked out a tape that is now 17 years old that i listen to every year, boy is the rough quality during the first few songs but once it warms up with the old classics tis the best tape around.
The festive feeling in me is also growing at the prospect of receiving two presents next week oooo I'm so excited. Me and the rest of the costume girls on my course decided to do secret santa, so next tuesday were having christmas dinner and exchanging presents I'm so excited. Then on thrusday all three years of costume girls are having a christmas party and we've also done secret santa. For once Ive been quite organised and i have bought both of my presents, well almost i still have 75p let of my years secret santa left, god knows what I'm gonna get with that but ill have fun hunting. I do love a bit of present buying ... ill keep you posted as to what i find

meh
Haven't written in ages as life has been a bit hectic what with starting lectures and what not at uni ... so far ive learnt to get there early to nab a seat at the back, get comfy and day dream away!!!!
... anywhoo with an impending cristmas ball i can't help butg to be side tracked with finding a perfect dress. However as this is the first ball this can present certain problems such as:
- degree of formality!
- dress length
- new or old dress (one that no one has seen)
- acccessories!!
Essentially we just want to look preety and to have others notcie the extra care and effort we have made for the night. Personally i am a preety much low maintenance kind of girl, i only wear a hint of blusher and this is a rareity- a luxury if i remember to put it on in the morning. Sometimes foundation is needed to hide my eye bags but otherwise i don't see the point in pilling on the slap, as when you do dress up there is less of a change and for me therfore you wont transform - this what i love about going out the ability to transform and make that extra special effort!
However this is an opportunity to go shopping and really what girl doesn't like shopping =) i know i love it!.... especially a shopping trip which is dress orienatated, however i am torn between finding a new dress or wearing this dress whihc i have only worn once, love and no one apart form my family has seen. This dress in question i am particully in love with as orginally it was a skirt and made me look like a middle aged housewife who should be making apple pie for her three kids not a great look for an 18 year old. However after i unrolled the waistband the skirt became a rather chic (i like to think) strapless dress. The boob tube is black and the skirt is white with blakc horizontal stripes around the bottom in various thicknesses. As i am not blessed with height the dress i feel is quite flattering stopping just on my knee ... what do i do?
To buy a new dress or to wear an old dress??
...... or do i hear shoppin for new accessories?

Noodles
Out and about London today with my ma shopping for uni bits we had lunch at 'WASABI' - i have walked past this cute weeny restaurant dozens of times but have never eaten in there this is due to one of my misconceptions that it merely sales sushi.
However at the back of the restaurant there is an assortment of hot and i must say very tasty food. The food is fairly cheap for a cup of noodles being £3.95 i think and believe me this cup is a good size and i left feeling rather stuffed!
YUM i would definitely recommend WASABI for a future eating destination i can't comment on what the sushi tasted like as i can't eat fish its the smell it just makes me feel oh so queasy although i must admit the vast variety on sale did look preeety tasty! enjoy x x

Party Party
Men! - you just gotta love em but a bad dancer is 100% a bad turn off.
Recently i was in Zoo Bar in London and i must say the majority of the men were fit however there was one man who literally looked like he was having a fit! - however as he was so good looking this could easily be overlooked but only for so long.
What i don't get is how men can be so confident even if there not that great looking to walk up a girl and start dancing with her - i could definitely not do this - well sober anyway hehe
But yes whilst dancing men kept grabbing me form behind to dance with me and well ill dance with anyway but first like show me your face so i know just who is pelvic thrusting into my back and come on take a hint if we walk away don follow! i think that's just such a major turn off cause to me being a good dancer is a serious turn on - opinions?

Youth Forums
I attend my first youth forum meeting today with a friend and although i felt that the leader was warm and inviting the same can not be said for the rest of the group.
Surrounded by intresintg and intellignet artsy people i did feel isolated and out of the loop. Even other newcomes appeared cold and after making superficial connections to people complety ignored mine and my friends input for hte brainstorm.
I have not been aware that such groups exsit in london and think that what they work to produce is great however art for me can be stressful however i will be looking out to see if similar youth forum groups exist in textile-fashion orientated museums - this i feel would be far more up my alley =)

Trend Alert
I met up with a friend this week and after a catch-up and gossip we cracked out this months ELLE a magazine i am religious follower of - for me Vogue is more a picture book which is great although i feel inferior reading, envious of the models and their amazing bodies - i sadly could and never will look like that.
But yes for me ELLE has a great balance of fashion and intresting articles that each month i crave whereas a magazine such as Marie Claire although filled with articles, the fashion element is somewhat lacking.
So there we were cosied up on my sofa flicking through and then we reached the section of the magazine of upcoming trends:
Easy Luxe
- loved this as i am all for comfort
New trousers
- i hate my thighs so therefrore i am staying clear from this trend i only tend to wear skinnies or dresses
New Denim
- so not for me i dislike strongly denim shirts they remind me of the nineties and an old denim pinafore i use to wear something i would prefer not to reminisce about - as for stonewash denim i think it can look good on the ultra slim and not many else - ill be stickign to dark denim thanks!
and micro trends :corset lacing, draping, the jumppsuit, sequins
Well jumpsuits have been around for months, and as for corset lacing i think that only looks good for period clothing.
Draping however i think is a timless and chic way of dressing and sequins can make you stand out form a crowd on a night out - alwasy a great thing if you remeber not to go over the top unlike sienna miller who was seen wearing a sequin suit and a sequin top to one of the G.I JOE premiers - not a great look me thinks!

Another trend was biker jackets - personally i think they can look amazing on the right person sadly i just odn't suit them which is a bit of a bummer as i think over an ultra feminie dress they can create an edge to a dress and help to counter act over feminity.
Juxtapositiong hard with soft - a mixture in clothing i love to try to create
I am great beleiver in not becoming a complete trend folloer indivdualting is far more creative and fashionale in my own opiong - whats your opinion will you be buying into the up and coming trends? - opinions?

Official first post
Hahah i actually have a blog, and the fact that i titled this 'official first post' i feel obliged to create a witty, indeering and orignial entry - however im fresh out of ideas which is random for me.
Flats vs Heels! - wth universtiy pending i find mysely with a new justification to shop. I need new flats ... and well new hells too .. well actually shoes in general but i just don't buy shoes. Its weird but is it me or are clothes just much more appealable when it comes to shopping? I don't know what it is but i am very reluctant to purchase shoes - dresses however is an entirely a different story. I love them. I love the chamelon affect a dress can have - how some can be worn an infiante amount of time in various ways and the ultimate feminity i feel when i wear one.
In fashion every woman shouldn't be without a LBD - a staple item due to its classic design. I do agree that everyone should own a classic dress but to me the clour does not necessailry have to be black but thats only due to the fact i am not a fan of wearing black. I like clour and lots of it! However i have an amazing black velvet dress from h&m that i adore and only whish i could wear more.
To me my LBD is in the form of florals!
